After arriving in Colombo, we’ll transfer to Mirissa (approximately 3 hours). The rest of the day is at our leisure to recover from the strenuous journey. Overnight in Mirissa.
The morning is free of travel. Departure for Yala National Park at 12:00 PM. En route, we visit the Mulkirigala Temple. Overnight in Tissamaharama.
We begin our day with a morning safari in Yala National Park. Afterwards, our journey takes us into the highlands to Ella. Once there, we take a short hike to Little Adam’s Peak in the afternoon. Overnight in Ella.
After breakfast, we travel by train to Nuwara Eliya. In the afternoon, we visit the city, also known as “Little England” because of its beautiful colonial buildings. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

At night, we begin our ascent to the summit of Adam’s Peak. Approximately 4,500 steps lead to the summit, where a magnificent sunrise awaits us. After the descent, we’ll enjoy a particularly delicious breakfast.
Afterwards, we continue to Kandy. In the evening, we’ll visit the famous and sacred Temple of the Tooth. Overnight in Kandy.
In the morning, we visit the Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, which was established by the British on the Mahaweli River. In the afternoon, we have time to explore the city of Kandy. Overnight in Kandy.
After breakfast, we set off toward Habarana. En route, we visit the Aluvihare Temple. In the afternoon, we climb Pidurangala Rock. From the top, you’ll have a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. The sound of peacocks and monkeys screaming in the distance is unique.
You can also take beautiful photos of Lion Rock opposite, which we’ll climb the next morning. Overnight in Habarana.
Before breakfast, a short drive takes us to Sigiriya. We climb the famous Lion Rock with its magnificent frescoes of the “Cloud Maidens.” Further steep stairs lead us to the summit of the rock, where we find the ruins of the palace, which once spanned three floors.
Upon our return, we have breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, we take a tour to a nearby village and enjoy a cooking class with a local family. Overnight in Habarana.
After breakfast, we drive to Dambulla, where we visit the five Golden Rock caves with countless Buddha statues, one of the oldest places of worship on the island. Afterwards, we begin the return journey to Colombo, either to the airport or for an extended beach stay.
